Hello, Sunshine! I totally fell off of the fitness bandwagon lately. Three weeks of vacation, yummy homemade Swedish pancakes from my mama, carbs galore at the Atlantis’ buffets and expensive fees to use the gym at the hotel set me back a bit at transforming my body. Right before we went on vacation I had baby bicep muscles showing and a cute little bubble butt I worked so hard to get. Sadly, at the pool the other day I realized that my booty lost its perkiness and my biceps have disappeared. But now that all of my summer fun is over, I’m going to transform my body with Kayla Itsines’ Bikini Body Guide.
Kayla Itsines’ Bikini Body Guide
I discovered Kayla Itsines on Instagram while I was postpartum with Lulu. I was looking for inspiration and tips to get back into shape as soon as I could. Somehow I found Kayla’s smiling face and immediately followed her.
I’ve tried other workout plans, but they were either too time consuming or unrealistic for me to complete as a busy mother of three. I want to gain lean muscle and Kayla has the body type I’m aiming for.
Kayla’s guide is a 12 week program that consists of two circuits for you to complete in under 30 minutes. You don’t need to go to the gym and the results other girls have achieved with her program are amazing! I hope that I can be an inspiring 12 week transformation.
Confession
I purchased the Bikini Guide in July thinking I would start it and be able to keep up with it while vacationing. Wrong. I was in vacation mode and honestly, I didn’t have the time or babysitters to workout. That’s why I came up with the 100 day plan. Daily I completed 100 squats, 100 sit-ups and 100 pushups. I didn’t need anything to do it and it was easy to do. It kept my muscles alive, but didn’t show any real transformations.
Hold Me Accountable
I only have Lulu around during the day so scheduling a time to workout isn’t a problem. I’m hoping by updating My Rays of Sunshine with weekly updates about my success with the bikini body guide will hold me accountable in completing it. I’ll quit things that bore me and I’m hoping this doesn’t happen this time. I guess that’s why I love dancing. There’s music, constant movement, and always something new and exciting to learn.
I haven’t decided when I’m going to share pictures of my progress, but I will when I my transformation is visible.
Mission Bikini Body
Living in Tampa means it’s nine months of bikini season. If the Gulf didn’t cool off in Winter it would be 12 months. My goal is gain to lean muscle and have a bikini body in 12 weeks.
I bounced back quickly after CC probably because I was 23 years old and still practicing ballet until he was born. My muscle memory was still there and I had my lean muscles back in no time.
Sadly with Gracie, breastfeeding slowed down my metabolism a lot! I struggled to get rid of the last 10 pounds until a few months after she weaned. Lulu’s just finished nursing so I’m hoping that the weight starts to melt off and that I can rebuild my missing muscles.
This week begins a new adventure of cleaning my diet and focusing on completing each week’s circuit training. Wish me luck!
