Hello, Sunshine! We enjoyed our first summer vacation in three years and oh how we all need a vacay. We are went to the Bahamas and enjoyed the beautiful tropical island that included long days spent at the beach and water park. Three full days of chlorine, sunscreen, salt water and UV rays can really damage your hair and I was on a mission to find three cute, easy and fun ways for styling beach hair. I found three great options to keep mine and Gracie’s hair up and out-of-the-way.
Easy Twisty Bun
The easy twisty bun is my go-to, in a hurry, non-ponytail updo. It’s quick, easy and looks like you spent a lot of time doing your hair. I always throw on a head wrap or headband and puff up the front of my hair when I do this. I will say that at the end of the day it feels really good to take the bun out and rub my head. I have a lot of long hair and oh my is it heavy when I put it up. I’ve watched my dog rub her head and thought of copying her moves.
Topsy Tail Ponytail
I remember my mama putting my hair in low topsy tail ponytail as a little girl, maybe that’s why I liked this hair style in the first place. The key to making this topsy tail ponytail looking good is to pull on the loop of each section, making it disheveled and so you don’t look like a private school girl (unless that’s what you’re going for).
Braid Into Fishtail Braid
For some reason, I was intimidated by the fishtail braid. It looks like it would be difficult to do, but it’s really easy. It’s one of my go-to styles for Gracie. I like this fishtail braid for my hair because it doesn’t look too childish. It’s a mature, but still fun and sexy braid. I didn’t pull out a section in the front and I added another braid to the opposite side of the fishtail to add some dimension.
Don’t forget to spray a leave-in conditioner in hair your hair to help protect it from being damaged.
