Hello, Sunshine! I’m so glad I’m not a single girl or waiting to see what my boyfriend has planned for us on Valentine’s Day. I remember in middle and high school being so excited for Valentine’s Day. If it occurred on a school day it meant that your boyfriend, really his parents, sent you a bouquet of flowers and you went to the office and picked them up. All day long you’d show how much your boyfriend at the time loved you to your friends. Do boys still do that? Anyway, now that I’m a mama to three little ones Valentine’s Day is a little different. Just because you have kids doesn’t mean it has to be loveless or boring. Here’s three Valentine’s Day date ideas for families, because little ones need love too!
Valentine’s Day Date Ideas For Families
Amusement Park
We’re lucky enough to live where there are several amusement parks within an hour-and-half drive. We LOVE going and being adventurous. Poor Gracie isn’t tall enough for some of the roller coasters, but she can’t wait to go on the biggest, scariest rides she can find. The girl is fearless.
We also LOVE water parks, but it’s be unseasonably cold right now. Our two favorite family friendly water parks are closed for the season, but we can’t wait to go back!
Starbucks
Yes, I said Starbucks. My kids love it! Two of our favorite Starbucks to visit are next to our local bookstore and inside Target. Lulu and I have a weekly Starbucks date after ballet on Tuesdays. She gets a cake pop and chocolate milk and I get whatever is the special flavored latte for the week. This week I had a Molten chocolate latte. It was chocolately goodness!
If you like to have Starbucks dates, share your special moment with @Starbucks and tag #StarbucksDate on social media. Starbucks will be retweeting and favoriting posts. Yours could be one of them!
If you’re more of a homebody, brew Starbucks® Caffé Verona® at home for you and your loved ones. Did you know that Starbucks created Caffé Verona for a Seattle restaurant to be paired with a luscious chocolate cake dessert? Who can say no to chocolate? Caffé Verona® was originally called Jake’s Blend, but the love was so strong for it that Starbucks eventually called it Verona after the beloved city.
You can also gift your loved ones a loved themed Starbucks tumbler. There are so many cute tumblers available both online and in store. I had a hard time to pick just one!
Indoor Inflatable or Trampoline
Because your kids will need to burn off their sugar highs from their cake pops and Frappuccinos, an indoor inflatable or trampoline jump zone is the perfect place for them to get their sillies out and you to burn a few calories. It’s crazy how you become fearful when you’re older. The first time I got on a trampoline I was so worried that I’d break a bone or seriously hurt myself. Once I got the hang of it, I was surprised at what I could still do. Muscle memory is a powerful thing. I could do toe touches like no one else. I wasn’t brave enough to try a back tuck. Maybe next time!
No matter how you spend Valentine’s Day, make sure you tell those you love how special they are to you!
