Hello, Sunshine! It’s almost time for Summer vacation! Woo hoo! This is my kids’ last week of school. They’re busy planning all of the fun activities they want to do before school starts back up in August. We’re lucky to live in Tampa. We’re minutes away from beautiful beaches and world-class theme parks. A memorable Florida vacation is only an hour for us. I’m going to share my family’s secrets on how we make the most out of what Florida has to offer.
Beaches
Florida is home to Siesta Beach in Sarasota. TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards awarded it the No. 1 in the U.S. for 2017. Siesta Beach has beautiful crystal-clear blue water and some of the softest and whitest sand. When visiting our beaches it’s important to get there early. Our beaches are packed early and parking can be difficult. When entering the water, it’s important to do the stingray shuffle. Instead of walking or running into the ocean or gulf shuffle your feet. This simple move will scare off any stingrays that may be hiding in the sand.

Theme and Water Parks
Florida is home to world-class theme and water parks. Orlando is home to Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World. Each of the three theme parks has their own water park on site for you and your family to enjoy. Tampa is home to Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. My favorite secret: bring in a soft cooler and filled with snacks, sandwiches, drinks, and refillable water bottles. You can save hundreds of dollars by stopping at the grocery store before visiting the parks. All of the theme parks will fill your water bottle with water for free!
Sports
Florida may not be as well known for our major sports leagues but throughout the year can catch an NFL, NBA, NHL, or MLB game. If you’re in Jacksonville, stop by a Jaguars game. Need a break from all of the theme parks in Orlando? Watch the Magic shoot some hoops. Tampa is home to the Buccaneers whose stadium is made to look like an old pirate ship. Miami his home to the Heat, Marlins, Dolphins and Florida Panthers.
My Must Haves Featuring Neutrogena Sheer Zinc Sunscreen
I keep a must-have bag in my car at all times. It contains all of the necessities I may need to save the day at any moment. Here’s a list of my must-haves for you to keep with you at all times while visiting Florida:
- Neutrogena Sheer Zinc™ Sunscreen
- Bandaids
- Pain Reliever
- Hand Sanitizer
- Wipes
- Sunglasses
- Lip Balm
- Gum
- Tissues
- Tummy Relief
- Hand Moisturizer
- Beach Towel
It’s hot and humid almost year-round in Florida. Because of our beautiful weather, we are outside throughout the year. It’s so important to protect your skin with sunscreen, especially when visiting the Sunshine State. Neutrogena Sheer Zinc™ sunscreen uses Purescreen® technology which is 100% naturally-sourced zinc oxide. It’s hypoallergenic, sweat and water proof, won’t clog your pores, oil-free, and it’s dermatologist tested. Neutrogena Sheer Zinc™ sunscreen provides UVA/UVB protection that is gentle for sensitive skin and was awarded the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance™.
I keep Neutrogena Sheer Zinc™ sunscreen face in my purse with me and reapply it throughout the day. My face is vulnerable to the sun’s rays all day long. Even when I’m driving in my car. I love that it doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily and sticky all day.
When I’m at CC’s baseball games I apply Neutrogena Sheer Zinc™ sunscreen before I get out of my car. I bring a towel in case it gets too hot and I need an extra layer of protection. Don’t forget to protect your eyes with your favorite pair of sunglasses!
This week, visit your local Target or at Target online between 5/21-5/27 to receive a $5 Target GiftCard with the purchase of $15 or more of sun care products. I found Neutrogena Sheer Zinc sunscreen in the beauty and skincare department.
