Hello, Sunshine! It happened and I don’t know how, but I’ve been Swifted. I’ve always been a music junkie and I can’t imagine a world without a great song running through my head. Taylor Swift was never really an artist who I thought I’d actually like one of her songs, but it happened.
Tim McGraw
I actually liked her first single, Tim McGraw. The Tim McGraw holds a special place in my heart. His album, A Place in the Sun, was the first CD I bought when I had my first car. Since then I’ve loved him. So when Taylor released the single, Tim McGraw, I enjoyed it. But her later releases were too sugary and sweet for my liking. I realize that I’m not her target market, but I still listen to music from sun up to sun down.
For the longest time I told my husband that I wish she’d leave country and just go pop. With her new album, 1989, she did that and it’s a success. I like Taylor Swift the pop star. Her matured sound and songs will only help her grow her fan base.
Wildest Dreams
I usually fall in with love songs that don’t become singles. I love finding hidden gems on albums. It’s like a secret that only I know. Wildest Dreams is my favorite single on 1989. The lyrics are something every girl can relate to, even us girls who are now mamas.
Wildest Dreams
He said let’s get out of this town
Drive out of the city
Away from the crowds
I thought heaven can’t help me now
Nothing lasts forever
But this is gonna take me down
He’s so tall, and handsome as hell
He’s so bad but he does it so well
I can see the end as it begins my one condition is
Say you’ll remember me
Standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you’ll see me again even if it’s just in your wildest dreams (Ah ah)
Wildest dreams (Ah ah)
I said no one has to know what we do
His hands are in my hair, his clothes are in my room
And his voice is a familiar sound, nothing lasts forever
But this is getting good now
He’s so tall, and handsome as hell
He’s so bad but he does it so well
And when we’ve had our very last kiss
But my last request is
Say you’ll remember me
Standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you’ll see me again even if it’s just in your wildest dreams (Ah ah) (Ah ah)
Wildest dreams (Ah ah)
You see me in hindsight
Tangled up with you all night
Burn it down
Some day when you leave me
I bet these memories hunt you around
You see me in hindsight
Tangled up with you all night
Burn it down (Burn it down)
Some day when you leave me
I bet these memories follow you around (Follow you around)
Say you’ll remember me
Standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you’ll see me again even if it’s just pretend
Say you’ll remember me
Standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you’ll see me again even if it’s just (Just pretend, just pretend) in your wildest dreams (Ah ah)
In your wildest dreams (Ah ah)
Even if it’s just in your wildest dreams (Ah ah)
In your wildest dreams (Ah ah)
Say You’ll Remember Me
We all have that one moment or memory that we hope still burns in someone else’s memory, even in their Wildest Dreams. I think this is especially true for us mamas. We hope our husbands remember us for the girl we were before we had families and deep down still are.
