Hello, Sunshine! Can you believe the holidays are almost here? Every Christmas Eve we have a traditional Italian meal and of course that involves pasta! Both JD and I come from large Italian families. My maternal family is from Italy and Sweden. I’ve always loved the laughter and bond of family around a big Italian meal. There’s nothing like talking and laughing the night away with a glass of your favorite vino and a bowl of your favorite pasta.
I grew-up watching my Mother, Grandmother and Aunt making homemade pasta sauce. There was so much chopping, simmering and splashing involved in the kitchen. I loved being a little girl helping them out. Before I had three kids I would recreate the sauce for myself to enjoy. Now that I’m constantly short on time I like to use Ragú Organic Traditional pasta sauce to whip up a meal for my family.
My girls really like pasta, but it seems like every time I make a pot of spaghetti we either eat too much of it or we waste a lot of pasta noodles. An easy solution is to make muffin tin pasta nests. My kids love eating their pasta nests and it’s also a great way to control portion sizes. It’s a quick meal when you add Ragú Organic Traditional in the recipe.
We really try to limit the amount of gluten we digest in our family. We all feel better when our belly’s are not full of wheat. There are many amazing wheat-free pasta options to choose from. I really like the quinoa or brown rice blends.
Ragú was born out of family tradition. Assunta Cantisano came to American with her family’s secret recipe for tomato sauce. Her family, friends, and neighbors loved her recipe so much that she bottled it and sold it. Thus, Ragú pasta sauce was born! Hundreds of pasta sauces have graced the shelves over the past 80 years, but only one has become America’s number one – Ragú!
