Hello, Sunshine! I was invited by my friend Michelle from Our Three Peas to be a part of the Tour Through Blogland. Michele is the genius behind Wine’d Down Wednesday and I’m honored each week to be a part of it. The Tour Through Blogland is an opportunity to discover new blogs. I love to learn what bloggers are passionate about, what’s happening in their lives and how they can create and accomplish things I could never dream of. I’ve made some amazing connections through blogging and I love being a part of this giant community.
Who Am I?
I’m a former ballerina who spent some time in the modeling world and dreamt of becoming a publicist in Nashville. The whole Nashville thing hasn’t happened yet, but I went to Nashville last year and fell in love. Hard. Now, I’m a realtor who loves all things girlie. I love high heels, dresses, makeup, pretty hair, water parks, traveling and most importantly, making memories with my beautiful family.
What are you working on?
Everything and anything! I have such a full plate, but I love it! I’m trying to up my YouTube game and I’m working on my lighting and background. For some reason my house is ridiculously dark and good (any) light is hard to come by.
I’m also working on sharing more fashion and beauty posts because I really love to dress up! I’m also sharing my weekly progress on Kayla Itsines’ Bikini Body Guide. I need JD to step up his photography game so I can share better pictures with you guys.
How does your work differ from others of its genre?
I’m a lifestyle blogger. My vision for My Rays of Sunshine is for it to be place that everyone feels welcome and doesn’t feed to a particular niche. I felt lost reading blogs that were supposed to be geared towards me. I may be a 30-something mama, but there’s more to me than being a mom. There’s a girl inside who has her own passions, desires and interests. I write for people who love life and want to live it to the fullest.
Why do you write/create what you do?
So I think you’re asking me Why My Rays of Sunshine? Because honestly it’s so easy to focus on whatever crappy situation is currently happening in your life. Instead of focusing on the negative, I make it a goal to appreciate the gift of another day and another chance to make something amazing happen. I want to encourage the new mama who is scared to death that she’s going to screw up her child’s life because she doesn’t follow everyone’s advice and give peace to a woman who may have a medical diagnosis that Dr. Google said is going to bring down her child’s quality of life.
How does your writing/creating process work?
I’m a typical type A personality with my job. Believe it or not, it’s really stressful and entertaining at the same time. If I don’t stay on top of my game with all of my paperwork and demands of clients, investors and tenants then I’d be in a big a mess. My Rays of Sunshine on the other hand is where I can simply express whatever I want to, whenever I want to.
I find inspiration from other bloggers, friends, the news, my family, and of course, music! If we’d all just take the time to embrace our surroundings, we’d find so many creative and wonderful things happening around us.
