Seven Down 83 to Go

Seven Down 83 to Go

I finished my first seven days of P90X. Two days last week I didn’t participate in P90X. Super Bowl Sunday was a day off and my poor little man had a terrible sinus infection and earache. I spent Monday at the doctor’s office and pharmacy getting his prescription. But I did complete all seven days. Let me start off by saying I take a yoga class once to twice a week. The P90X yoga day was torture for me. It wasn’t because it was difficult, I found Yoga X to be so slow and boring. Yoga X is about ninety minutes long and I kept watching the time on the bottom half of the screen. It felt like three hours of unnecessary description of each and every move of the other people in the video. My husband said I could skip it, but I’m not a quitter. I caught...

Does it Work?

Does it Work?

On New Year’s Day everyone makes New Year’s Resolutions. I’m going to loose weight. I’m going to start a business. I’m going to take my dream vacation. You can’t wait to share resolutions. Derek Siver’s says it’s better to keep your goals a secret. So, maybe I’m not taking Mr. Siver’s advice. I didn’t make it my New Year’s resolution to loose weight but hey, who couldn’t loose a few pounds? My brother-in-law has been praising P90x since Thanksgiving and at the beginning of the year he gave us and his parents P90X. (So you know, I’m not trying to become your coach or sell any Beach Body Fitness products.) Anyway, I completed the majority of my business taxes (that’s another story) so I am officially giving P90X a try. I do workout on a regular basis and go to the gym three to five days a week. My...

Are You Ready for the Future?

Wow! What a heavy, bright jar I thought as I opened my package from Future Face. The black and green jars are very eye-catching and the smell is enticing once opened. The scent reminded me of an Aveda or Origins store; very botanical and clean smelling. I began using my Milk Cleanser that night. I was impressed. My eyeliner, mascara, foundation and blush magically disappeared. I didn’t have to scrub or reapply the cleanser to remove any residue or leftover make-up. We all know the difficulty in removing mascara and eyeliner. It either doesn’t come off and the next day you awake with raccoon eyes, which is super sexy, or you have to rub your eyelids off, loose a few eyelashes and you end-up with soap your eyes. Can you feel the burn? Once I was finished cleansing my face and patted it dry, I decided to look in the...

Holidays Have You Stressed?

Holidays are always stressful. Whether it’s trying to find the perfect gift, fighting the crowds and rude people, or unfortunately the lack of spending money, you are sure to find a moment of frustration. Here are a few things you can do to help ease your way through any stressful situation.    Be cheerful. It deflates other stress and anxiety.  Be flexible. Don’t stress when expectations are not met.  Push away negativity of any kind. Think happy thoughts and count your blessings. Silence your phone at night. Sing Christmas carols with your kids. Have a date night with your honey instead of checking your BlackBerry. Give yourself "me" time. Eat right and exercise, it will do wonders for your mood. Drink healthy White Teas from Teavana and cuddle up in your favorite blanket.  Laugh and smile more often. Remember you can only change yourself.  Kiss someone. Smooching unleashes chemicals...
