Ooh La La Fabulous

Hair care products are a dime a dozen. Each and every product promises to make your hair stronger, healthier and stop a man dead in his tracks. What many women sadly discover is the hair care products they use are adding product build-up and leaving them with lifeless, limp hair. Martin (Mar-teen) Rodriguez saw a need in the hair care industry to create better hair care products everyone would love to use and in return love their hair. Rodriquez is the creator of Kalea Rose Hair Care. Rodriguez began working in the beauty industry at 17. Looking at him, you’d never know he’s been giving women the hair of their dreams for 31 years. What is the most common way women damage their hair? According to Rodriguez, “women do a lot of damage to their hair when they use flat irons, blow dryers and other hot styling tools without...

I’m in Love

I’m in Love

I’m in love with Kalea Rose’s Revive Hair Complex. It is a wonderful detangling and conditioning spray.  I have long, dyed red hair. I try not to dry, curl, or use a straight iron on my hair to keep it long and healthy. Because it is long, I have to use a hair detangler on it after every shower to remove knots creating during lathering and rinsing. For years I have used Suave For Kids Detangler and Johnson’s Kids No More Tangles Spray Detangler on my hair. When I was asked to review Kalea Rose’s Revive Hair Complex, I was thrilled. A grown-up detangler for my hair with an added sun filter. How could I refuse? Kalea Rose’s Revive Hair Complex is a leave-in penetrating conditioner with amino acids. It helps prevent split ends by strengthening your hair’s elasticity. And it protects your hair from the sun with sunscreen....

My ‘Trip’ to the Salon

My ‘Trip’ to the Salon

It was a hectic summer for me. My sister and sister-in-law were both married, my husband started a new career which led to us relocating and my little man started school. There was no me time. It had been three months since I visited a salon. When I realized I couldn’t get my comb through my hair and it consisted of three various shades of red, I scheduled a salon appointment. For me it’s always nerve-racking going to a new stylist. You never know if they know what they’re doing or if you’ll leave with a terrible style. My husband kept insisting to me that bangs are back in style. Nice subtle hint dude. Great, additional added stress. All I could think of as I stepped into the salon was “I hope this girl know how to color, cut in a straight line and not give me mushroom...

Touchable, Soft Hair

Touchable, Soft Hair

After a torturous morning of mowing my gigantic yard, I decided to try my sample of Dove Intense Damage Therapy Conditioner. My long hair was full of grass, bugs, sunscreen and sweat.  A great combination of destroying elements to test the conditioner. Usually, I use shampoo and conditioners for color-treated hair. But with all the fun of summer, comes the dryness of the sun, pool and beach. My ends tend to get a little dry, but luckily I do not suffer from too much frizz. After scrubbing my hair clean from the yard debris, I opened my little sample with my teeth. I don’t suggest you do that, it tastes awful. The conditioner smells wonderful from the moment you open it. It is a pleasant scent, not overly sweet. My hair was easy to comb out after my shower. After letting it air dry, my hair is soft and...
