What Moms Really Want

Unfortunately, Sick just got real™ at our house. #SickJustGotReal #AMomCanDream #AD

Thank you to Pfizer Pediatric  for sponsoring today’s conversation. We love that they support mother’s everywhere, especially when Sick just got real™!

Hello, Sunshine! I don’t know what the deal is around here, but we can’t seem to find the springtime sickness going around. Last week JD and Lulu were both fighting a stomach bug that the kids and I had last month. It’s not the flu, but just a painful stomach bug. I don’t wish it on anybody. Unfortunately, Sick just got real™ at our house.

Sick Lulu

It’s amazing how at one moment your baby is happy and having the time of her life, and the next minute she’s holding her tummy crying in the Target shopping cart. It’s a moment that every mom fears. How fast can I checkout and get home before full blown sickness happens? Will we make it out before we cause a bigger scene?

Poor Lulu’s tummy wasn’t having any of it. We made it successfully out of Target, but the ride home wasn’t a success.

When I got her home I had moments of where there was almost anything I would rather do than clean up her sickness. I could float on a lazy river, eat authentic Italian in Italy, really anything would have been better, but what could I do?

As I was cleaning up all I could think of was how I wanted my baby to be okay and tell me she loved me. I wanted to hear her running through the house laughing and being my little Lulu.

So if you want to know what mom’s really dream about, it’s for her family to be happy and healthy, because that’s all that really matters.

My #SickJustGotReal story is when my son got real sick and I had to take care of him for a couple of weeks. I am so glad that I had other family members to help me with this or I would have gotten way far behind. I needed a break and that is what Moms need when their kids get sick!

True Story. My little boy gets up in the middle of the night and comes in my room all the time to ask me pointless questions. He is almost three but he still feels the need to ask me if I am going to make him breakfast in the morning or if he can have some milk when he gets up, etc. Anyway, about a month ago he came into my room just as calm as can be and started saying, “Mom, I need to tell you something,” over and over. I tried telling him to get back in bed but he just kept repeating himself so I got up and took his hand and started to walk him back to his room. He started screaming that he NEEDED to tell me something. I walked into his room and right into a puddle of vomit! As I thought of all the different kinds of puddles I would have much rather stepped in, my toddler said in the sweetest voice, “I told you I had to tell you something.”
